Kurt French of Thousand Oaks Plumbing to sponsor March 4 meeting

Kurt French of Thousand Oaks Plumbing to sponsor March 4 meeting

Synergy membership was a no-brainer of Kurt French. As the man in charge of business development, marketing, and customer service at Thousand Oaks Plumbing, joining a networking group was top priority.

“Thousand Oaks Plumbing was simply too good to be too quiet as they’ve been,” says Kurt. He knew that growing the business would require a lot of interaction with other community members to form partnerships and get the word out. The networking efforts have certainly paid off: Thousand Oaks Plumbing has seen increased growth in the past five years, with new plumbers, new trucks, new equipment, and a growing customer base that reflects the company’s motto, “Referred by Many, Preferred by All.”

“We’re glad to connect with our customers and experience the community we all live in, up close and personal every-day,” says Kurt.

The company was founded by Daniel Guiney in the 1980s, and for the past 35 years Danny, his wife Kate, and co-owner John Bracken have served thousands of happy customers in the Greater Conejo Valley & Ventura County areas. Clients include residential homeowners, apartment complexes, HOAs, businesses, commercial properties, and more. “Big or small, we do it all,” Kurt says. They employ seasoned plumbers who have already proven themselves through training and long-term employment, and they have all the permits, insurance, and city level licenses required for sophisticated plumbing jobs and street work. Their thorough preparation and professionalism has earned them almost two thousand 5-star reviews on Yelp, Google, Facebook, and other big review sites.

Kurt understands that referrals and connections are the backbone of this business. He is looking to partner with more HOAs and management groups to become their trusted resource for plumbing, and he is always on the lookout for talented plumbers, “but only the good guys,” he says. “We train and bring plumbers up, but it’s a rigorous pathway into our core team.” To maintain such a stellar reputation, Thousand Oaks Plumbing doesn’t waste resources on sub-par applicants.

And much of their success can be attributed to joining the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and Synergy Business Connections. Referrals from fellow Chamber and Synergy members have helped Thousand Oaks Plumbing gain valuable customers and make personal connections. Kurt also appreciates what Synergy does for its members, like giving social media shoutouts and pointing the spotlight on a different member each Thursday meeting. Connecting with and earning about other area business people makes Synergy membership invaluable, and receiving and giving referrals is the icing on the cake. “I refer people to [Jim Nagy of Sprocket Websites] all the time when I’m having conversations related to marketing. I’ve learned to trust that he listens and would take care of anyone I mentioned them to.” Kurt trusts that other Synergy members will do the same for Thousand Oaks Plumbing.

“I joined Synergy because you all felt like the kindest and most genuine group,” says Kurt. “This networking thing isn’t about the tools, technology, or the bells and whistles--it’s people. Humans helping humans succeed. We learn and grow with each opportunity we have the clarity to see.”

We look forward to hearing more about Kurt and what he does to make Thousand Oaks Plumbing so successful. To join the 10am meeting on March 4, click here
