Synergy Member PlanPrep Launches Free Comfort Number System

Now, anyone can become a fearless investor in just a few minutes!

PlanPrep’s new risk comfort number system blends the latest in technological advances with Burt Williamson’s extensive investment management experience. It helps people see how much risk they are willing to take with their money in comparison to how much they are actually taking. And, they can find out in a few minutes from their smartphone, tablet or computer.

“Our new service, Your Comfort Number, is intended to change people from being fearful investors that might make rash, short-term investment decisions based on emotion reactions, to fearless investors who make great decisions,” said Burt Williamson, founder of PlanPrep, LLC. “It helps people find their comfort zone for investment risk with a number from 1 to 99.

It’s just like a number for how soft or firm they want their mattress to be. This is not like the labels of conservative, moderate or aggressive. It’s pinpointed.”

Some easy to answer questions help guide people. It provides tradeoffs between losses and gains they may be willing to tolerate within any given six month period. The comfort number helps people see if their investments are in their comfort zone. Click hereto watch a short video.

Aligning their investments with their comfort zone can tame their fears of losing money and control their emotions better. Having realistic expectations of what may happen will allow them to react to risk appropriately when market conditions head south. It doesn’t eliminate the large drops or gains that occur from time to time, but it can help reduce the overall exposure to those extremes by making changes ahead of the next financial storm.

“PlanPrep’s new service is especially timely due to the high valuations of the stock markets today," said Williamson.“We don’t want people to fight their inclinations, but to harness them. The risk comfort number allows us to reposition their portfolios to match the individual based on what he or she truly wants and needs to achieve their objectives.”

Investors can find their comfort number by going to PlanPrep.com and clicking on Your Comfort Number. They may call PlanPrep at 800-588-0190 if they need assistance.

04/02/2020 - Education Committee

The Education Committee works to improve the future quality of your workforce by hosting quality educational programs through local partnerships. Meetings include a presentation by featured speakers in the areas of Education, Job Training, Human Resources, Community Programs, and updates from our local partners.

The Education Committee coordinates interaction between businesses and the Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) and partners with private schools/colleges in the Conejo Valley.

This committee also leads our Teacher of the Month Program in partnership with CVUSD, where we honor educational excellence by rewarding teachers with a plaque in their name and gifts from Chamber Members. This is an opportunity for Chamber Members (you) to acknowledge our educators while also giving a brief description of your organization!

*Recipients are chosen by CVUSD*

This Month's Speakers:
Dr. Mark McLaughlin - CVUSD - District Superintendent
Jayna Suter (Ph.D) - CVUSD - Coordinator, Instructional Technology & Assessment

COMMERCIAL TENANTS: SHOULD YOU PAY RENT DURING THIS CRISIS?

In my opinion, the answer is generally no; don’t pay your rent for now. Why?  Because it’s probably the only leverage you have over your landlord right now, and it is good leverage which most tenants don’t typically have with a landlord.  If you pay your rent as usual, why would a landlord offer you any kind of help? I have been receiving many calls from business owners from existing clients and those that are becoming new clients related to what they should do regarding their...

Tenant Rent Abatement During This Crisis

Many businesses are experiencing the same income drop that you and I are. While the above statement is true, the landlords probably won’t give a rent reduction of any kind because they are going to have losses also as many businesses, especially in retail centers, will go out of business. It doesn’t hurt to ask your landlord for a rent reduction, but you are going to have to prove your income drop, which is not normally something you do in advance, but rather in arrears after many...

Some messages from our group...

What makes the Conejo Valley special, unique or interesting?

I like to call Thousand Oaks "the biggest little town in the country." Even though its size is well over 100,000 residents, it still has a small town feel. You are liable to see someone you know every time you go out. I also like the fact that it has protected itself from the blight that has ruined so many other communities in Southern California by restricting things such as billboards, building structure and height, paid parking lots, and corner strip malls.
