My name is Tracy Labat, I work for MainStreet Mortgage, and we are here to help you with any of your real estate lending needs. MainStreet Mortgage is located in Westlake Village, CA. As a lender’s concierge we pride ourselves on helping clients’ establish strategies and provide direction when purchasing or refinancing a home. John Mallett is the owner of MainStreet Mortgage. His number one priority is to insure the best rate, superior service and an overall great experience for every client.

John is a real estate financing expert who has originated over $1 billion dollars in loans. He is the author of: “Buy Your First Home Today!”, which outlines the principles that guide his business in underwriting, structuring and submitting loans for approval. He defines this principle as: “Homeownership is a Sacred Trust”TM

By sharing this strategic formula with audiences, John and his team have successfully walked hundreds of first-time home buyers through the home buying process with preparedness and ease. And when they continue to follow these principles, clients find they have a strong foundation for sustained homeownership and if they choose, for additional real estate purchases.

Recognized as America’s Mortgage Expert, John is a frequent media guest who has appeared on some of America’s top TV news shows such as NBC4 California LIVE, FOX news and CBS, to share his knowledge of current trends in the real estate industry and the benefits of homeownership.

We have a Wide Range of Loan Resources and get exciting new loan products regularly.  Over the years, we have built longstanding relationships with a wide range of funding resources that include financing for: first time home buyers, move up buyers, and those buyers wanting to buy down for retirement purposes. We also have several loan options for self-employed individuals, VA loans for veterans, and even buyers that have had past credit challenges. Loan products include: conventional, non-conventional, private money, investment loans, government loans, reverse mortgages and jumbo loans up to 10mm+.  And even down payment assistance for first time homebuyers.  

What aspect of your business are you most proud of? 

I am proud of the private client service that we provide our borrowers! I have found with previous employment with other lenders, that not all lenders are created equal. Many do not communicate throughout the loan process and lack the knowledge to handle complex loans. There are many services that we offer that set us apart from other lenders, here are a few:

  • Fast, Easy, Qualified and Experienced: Whether it is credit counseling you need to repair and increase your credit score or our help in getting your loan approved, we have the knowledge and resources available to get it done. With our help, the loan process does not have to be stressful!
  • We Coach Our Clients:  From our team’s years of combined experience we have seen every type of loan challenge.  We are here to coach you through and help navigate you through the loan process.    
  • Overseeing the Loan Process from beginning to end:  Shopping for a lender often involves many hours of filling out forms – forms with tricky jargon that can stall the loan process if not filled out correctly. That’s why we do this for you so that your loan will be processed efficiently.

What’s the short version of your business’ origin story?

John Mallett has an incredible story. When he was just a boy, his father abandoned his family leaving them no financial resources. Raised by a single mother, John and his siblings grew up in government housing. It was this experience that made him understand how valuable homeownership is for those who don’t have a secure place to live. His dream, as a child, was to have his own place to live with the people he loved.

He was 18 when his mother died and yet, he did not let his lack of stability hold him back. He persevered and put himself through college, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA from USC, where he placed in the top five business plans, while a student at USC’s Marshall Business School, Lloyd Greiff School of Entrepreneurship.

Who is your ideal client?

Our ideal client is a first time homebuyer, repeat buyer who needs a pre-approval, a homeowner who is looking to refinance to improve their current rate and/or take cash out. Also included are individuals or couples who are as young as 62 years of age that want to explore the possibility of eliminating their mortgage payments or access cash through the use of a reverse a mortgage.

John Mallett offers complimentary educational seminars for first time homebuyers as well as for Real Estate Agents, CPAs, and Financial Planners on a variety of topics such as investment properties, current real estate market trends, and the benefits of reverse mortgages.
